Handsome Dressage Prospect

Boomer is an 8 year old grade appendix gelding. He is smokey black with lots of chrome and stands just shy of 16 HH (taped). He is handsome, smart and a bit of a cuddle bug. He loves pasture life and does well on good quality hay, doesn’t need a winter blanket and has been barefoot all his life. He is up to date on vaccinations, worming and farrier. His teeth were done 3 years ago and he still doesn’t need another float. He is very accepting of natural horsemanship practices and with consistent work, there is always continual progression. He enjoys working in a halter and responds very well to feedback. He has a very curious nature and LOTS of try. He was broke last year and we were in a weekly lesson program over the winter, however he has had most of the summer off and badly needs a refresher with a knowledgeable and confident horseman. He is strong and energetic , and even in his current condition, has good stamina. Boomer needs an experienced intermediate to advanced horseman to help him with his confidence and to help progress his training. He is not suitable for a beginner. Unfortunately, I just don’t have the skills or confidence to bring him to the next level. He seems happy going both Western and English, however jumping is not his forte. He has some amazing dressage potential seen in his beautiful trot and naturally even cadence. Has also has a lot of ‘go’ and might do well for an experienced barrel racer. Asking $3,500. A trainer has started working with him again and his price will increase as he advances.
